BEST OF CHINA (BOC) - 13 DAY TOUR
(Shanghai, Suzhou, Nanjing, Guilin, Xi’an, Beijing)
Itinerary and Departure Dates and Fares:
Day 1. Wednesday. USA/Shanghai. (IM).
Your tour departs from Los Angeles about mid-day and you will head across the Pacific Ocean to Shanghai, China's financial and commercial center. Spend the night aboard your trans-Pacific flight as you cross the International Date Line.
Day 2. Thursday. Shanghai. (IM).
You arrive in Shanghai, the largest city in China, in the late afternoon. There, you will be escorted to a local four- or five-star hotel.
Day 3. Friday. Shanghai. (AB, L, D).
Today you will visit the interesting History Museum and the historic Bund along Shanghai’s waterfront. After that, you will experience the gorgeous Yu Garden and then the fascinating Jade Buddha Temple. In the evening, you will enjoy an entertaining acrobatics show.
Day 4. Saturday. Shanghai/Suzhou. (AB, L, D).
First thing in the morning, you will board a deluxe motor coach for a trip to Suzhou, known as "The Venice of the Orient.” There you will visit the Suzhou No.1 Silk Spinning Factory, the Garden of Fishing Net Master, and the Garden of Humble Administrator. You will then check in at a local four- or five-star hotel.
Day 5. Sunday. Suzhou/Nanjing. (AB, L, D).
You will continue your deluxe motor coach trip to Nanjing. You will start your day in Nanjing with a visit to the illustrious Mausoleum of Dr. Sun Yat-Sen, the founder of Republican China. You will also see the double-decker Yangtze River Bridge and the Confucians Temple. After dinner, you will check in at a local four- or five-star hotel.
Day 6. Monday. Nanjing/Guilin. (AB, L, D).
After visiting the Nanjing Museum, you will fly to the mystical city of Guilin. There, you will check in at a local four- or five-star hotel.
Day 7. Tuesday. Guilin. (AB, L, D).
Today you will spend the day aboard the scenic Li River cruise, passing picturesque farms and fishing villages. On the way back, you will visit the Reed Flute Caves, where spectacular stalactite and stalagmite formations dazzle visitors.
Day 8. Wednesday. Guilin/Xi'an. (AB, L, D).
You will fly to Xi’an today, the ancient capital of China. Today’s tour will take you to the 600-year-old City Wall and the historic Wild Goose Pagoda. Then, you will check in at a local four- or five-star hotel.
Day 9. Thursday. Xi’an. (AB, L, D).
A full day’s tour will help you to recall the glories of ancient Xi’an as you visit a burial site containing an incredible army of 8,000 lifelike terra-cotta soldiers. You will also see the 6000 year-old ancient Banpo Neolithic Village. In the evening, you will enjoy two specialties, a delectable Xi’an Dumpling Dinner and a wonderful Tang Dynasty Show at the renowned Shaanxi Grand Song and Dance Theatre.
Day 10. Friday. Xi’an/Beijing. (AB, L, D).
You will take a domestic flight to Beijing, the capital of China. Upon arrival, you will tour the beautiful Temple of Heaven where, during the last Ming and Qing Dynasties, the emperors prayed for good harvests. In the evening, you will check in at a local four- or five-star hotel.
Day 11. Saturday. Beijing. (AB, L, D).
Your highlight today will be a visit to the awe-inspiring Great Wall, a formidable symbol of ancient Chinese civilization. You will also visit the solemn Ming Tombs, the burial place for the 13 Ming Dynasty emperors. In the evening, you will attend a delicious Peking Duck banquet.
Day 12. Sunday. Beijing. (AB, L, D).
Your morning sightseeing features the infamous Tiananmen Square, the world’s largest public square. Next, you will stroll through the fabulous Forbidden City, the residence of emperors for more than 500 years. A tour to the Summer Palace on Kunming Lake is another highlight of the day.
Day 13. Monday. Beijing/Los Angeles. (AB).
Today you will board your trans-Pacific flight back to the United States. You will take home many wonderful memories of China.
